Mpower Communications offers an expanding portfolio of Internet Protocol(IP) based products and services that enable our customers to efficiently leverage the Internet and enable new Web-based technologies to better manage their business.

Mpower, in partnership with Wiltel, is pleased to offer Dedicated Internet Access, using WilTel’s technologically advanced multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) enabled IP network. This nationwide network has been expertly engineered and managed to provideindustry leading network reliability, quality, and scalability that delivers out-standing performance to our customers.

Mpower’s Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) is designed for customers who normally need to rely on a specific amount of bandwidth above T1speed, but may occasionally require more bandwidth due to traffic peaks. Our DIA product allows our customers with dynamic traffic needs to sporadically “burst” above the selected minimum port speed, so higher volume traffic gets through when it needs to.

Customers can select a minimum service level (port speed) of 12, 18, 24 or a full 45 Mbps, based on your normal traffic patterns. Then, during times when peak usage is greater than this selected service level, data is permitted to burst beyond the minimum service level.

Because your Mpower DIA is provisioned on a standard DS3 circuit, your data traffic may burst up to the full 45Mbps. This permits you to control IP traffic patterns,which translates into more control over your monthly costs

How it works

The IP network successfully blends efficient Tier 1 connectivity, dense wave length division multiplexing (DWDM) and MPLS to deliver a superior network solution with quality IP service and security. The engineering and performance strength of the backbone networken ables us to provide industry-leading service level agreements (SLAs) with credits for port availability, packet loss and latency.

Solid network performance is documented by continuous third-party monitoring by Keynote®, one of the industry’s most highly regarded network performance measurements firms. The IP backbone excels against the competition in network performance, customer service and affordability.

Aggressive SLAs

Mpower SLAs center on the true customer experience through 99.999 percent domestic U.S.port availability and less than 0.5 percent packet loss.They also include a latency measure of less than 45 milliseconds average roundtrip and 100 milliseconds maximum roundtrip and an average four hour mean time to restore.

Bandwidth Option

The IP backbone is highly scalable to provide a range of capacity allowing customers to choose the bandwidth they need. We use Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing to quickly allocate a new wavelength from fiber along the fully IT, next generation broadband network.

Proactive Operations Support

The network control center is staffed 24 x 7 by highly skilled technicians to ensure the IP network — and those of its customers— perform as designed. This includes monitoring every aspect of our customers’ service, from trouble notifications to identification of problems and assistance with preventative measures.
